Beautiful plate by Paul Fouillen. A never-ending panorama of Breton life, with a lovely border. From his highly original work for delaHubaudiere Faiencerie. Circa 1920-30's. Plate 9 3/8 inch diameter. The famous coral and seaweed border, its vibrant tones echoed in the clothing of this pair of fisher folk. The series always illustrates intense conversations..though we have yet to determine what they are saying. Has had minor conservation, now in excellent condition.
