SWAN & LITTLE SWANS
A full-bodied creature, handsomely detailed from the tip of his beak,
15-3/8" long to the end of his lightly striped tail. Glaze skips there at
the tip (they are an early firing flaw and original to the piece), for the
rest, in perfect condition! As are all the little swans: each 3-1/2" long,
1-5/8" across, 2-1/2" high. All the pieces are signed, either HR or
HR Quimper, but the whole set clearly was created together, ca. 1915.
So many uses possible for this ensemble: eggs, hard-boiled and served in the
little swans, and devilled eggs presented on the big swan! And of course, just
sitting demurely as a wonderful centerpiece.
