Tabatière de table Snuff Circa 1880 (J)- SOLD

Tabatière de table 3-1/2” x 2-1/2” x 1-7/8”. Pass the snuff around the table, in this cunningly-designed book box! The little slide closes nicely (the underside of it needed a very minor restoration, which has been done), the décor front and back is almost enamelled, so well has it been painted, and the date, 1766, is more than 100 years earlier than when this piece was created. Attributed to the de la Hubaudière factory, ca. 1880, it is another marvel of clever design, handsomely rendered.
